NYC’S FIRST SPIDER-MAN MUSICAL “SELLS OUT” IN UNDER ONE MINUTE
THE SPIDEY PROJECT: WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY
SECOND SHOW ANNOUNCED FOR
MARCH 14TH, 10PM
March 4, 2011, New York, New York____: The Spidey Project: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility sold out its first show this evening in under one minute. Due to such high demand for this event, a second show has now been announced by brain-child Justin Moran. “You’ve been such great supporters so far,” Moran says to his fans, “and we want to get you in to see this show.” The second performance is set for March 14, 10pm at the Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) located at 123 East 24th Street.
Tickets for the second show, which are free, will be available at http://thepit-nyc.com/daily.html?y=2011&m=03&d=14 and at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/160031 on Monday, March 7 at exactly 12pm noontime. Each person may reserve up to two tickets. Tickets must be claimed fifteen minutes prior to curtain at Will Call or they will be given away. If you are unable to obtain a reservation online, approximately 35 tickets will be made available at the door fifteen minutes prior to curtain.
The Spidey Project: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility is a guerilla theatre project to write, rehearse, and perform a fully-realized musical based on the character Spider-Man in under 30 days with a budget of $0. It is set to open and close with two performances one day before the $65 million Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Moran’s musical will be the first Spider-Man musical to officially open in New York City.
Moran collaborated with Jon Roufaeal on the story and book, and will direct a cast that includes Liz Bachman, Michael Lutton, Ryan Nelson, Claire Neumann, Travis Nilan, Louie Pearlman, Robin Rothman and Jon Roufaeal. Doug Katsaros (Broadway's Hair; The Rocky Horror Show; Grammy-nominated Footloose; TV's The Tick) and Adam Podd (POPE! The Musical, ImagineOcean) are the composers of The Spidey Project: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility, with Podd also serving as musical director. Erin Coulter serves as stage manager and Taryn Kimel as the production manager.
